The Gentle Art flosses have arrived! And, let's talk wholesale!

First, the flosses: These are the entire collection of The Gentle Art Flosses from The Sampler Collection and The Shaker Collection. And they are sooooo beautiful!

I've only worked with these yummy flosses for one project so far, but I am head-over-heels crazy about them. Just look at these fabulous hand-dyed colors! And with color names like "Pumpkin Patch," "Fisherman's Wharf," "Old Red Paint," "Black Crow," "Weathered Barn," and "Portabella," well, I'm just going to have to make a goal of designing enough patterns to make use of every single one of them.

They are all here, in stock, and are all now listed and available to order, so have fun checking 'em out at Hannah's PinKeep.

On another note, I also decided today that offering a "Wholesale" option at Hannah's might be a nifty idea. After all, my fellow designers and retailers might just enjoy being able to order all the awesome supplies I'm stocking (and will soon be stocking) at Hannah's at some really great discounted prices... yes? I'm still working out all the particulars, but feel free to submit the little application form to start your account (visit the link, then click the "Apply Here" link), and I'll be back in touch with you just as soon as I have everything in order.

Happy Monday!

Silk Matka

I recently received a shipment of some pieces of silk matka I ordered for my store, and I wanted to show you what I LOVE about this fabric. This photo shows the new pieces, before washing, on the right ... and a couple of pieces I had which have been laundered, on the left. Notice how the new matka is smooth and shiny, but the laundered matka takes on that wonderful faded, nubby look of a very old fabric? It looks like a fabric that might have been widely used hundreds of years ago!

I absolutely love silk matka! It's an amazing fabric to use for accenting stitched pieces, or making ornies, dressing dolls, prairie bonnets, or whatever else you can think of in the way of primitive accents.

I have silk matka available for purchase at Hannah's, here. And, although I only have a few colors listed thus far, I do have access to many other colors that would lend themselves beautifully to primitive decor. Just let me know if you'd care to see more! :-)

The Return!

I'm happy to announce that I've finally decided on my strategy for Hannah's! While I am still closing out all remaining patterns from other designers (many of which you'll find listed in the "Clearance" section, available at deep discounts, right now!) in favor of listing my own designs (I have 3 patterns out now, and many more on their way), I've also decided to reinstate many of the supply items from before, and to add some brand-spankin' new ones as well!

As of today, I'm in the process of re-listing most WoolFelt ® colors for sale in either full yards or fat quarters. I'm also part-way done listing assorted colors of silk matka. This is a fabulous fabric that starts out very smooth, almost like a shiny linen... the magic, however, happens when you wash your matka; it fades in color and develops a wonderful nubby texture, perfect for your primitive and old-time projects! Washed matka just has the look and feel of a very, very old fabric. Use it to make and/or accent all kinds of primitive and colonial style items; you'll LOVE the look!

I'm also going to re-list DMC flosses, but not all; only the very best of their rich, muted, earthy primitive colors. And, I'm starting accounts with The Gentle Art and Valdani, and I hope to offer their flosses soon as well.

I also placed an order today for another big batch of 100% linen evenweave fabrics for all your cross-stitch projects, both in 28 ct. and in 32 ct. I picked out some fabulous prim colors that are sure to please, and I can't wait to use some of these pieces as well! And, I'll be re-listing several quilt-shop-quality cotton fabrics soon; prints, homespun plaids, striped ticking, and solids!

The adorable black-matte finish needlework scissors, Love, and Putford, are back in stock, and I'll soon be adding another style called Fleur, that are equally as adorable. And, I'm still hoping to eventually add punch-needle and rug-making supplies and patterns as well.

I'd like to thank all of Hannah's friends for your patronage, support, and patience! Things are starting to come together again, and I hope that Hannah's PinKeep will become one of your very favorite online stores soon!

Happy Halloween,
Jodi

Another New Pattern!

Just in time for Halloween, I've just listed another new cross-stitch pattern for a cute piece I've called "Old Haunts." I made this piece into a 5" x 7" pillow/pinkeep, and I have both the pattern (with "kit" option available) and the finished model for sale now.

You'll find the pattern available at Hannah's PinKeep, and the model is currently listed for sale at my other site, Autumn Comforts. I hope you'll check them both out and consider adding one of them to your own collection. :-)

Happy Halloween! :-)

New Cross-Stitch Pattern/Kit!

My first cross-stitch pattern has been listed for sale! "Beware the Moon" is a sweet little Halloween sampler with instructions to finish it as a little 10" x 6" pillow/pinkeep. Order just the pattern (includes chart, floss list, plus finishing instructions), or get the "kit" (includes the above, plus a piece of Wichelt "copper penny" linen, a piece of brushed cotton, striped pumpkin homespun for the backing, plus a total of 6 flosses for completing your pillow/tuck).

Available now; Click Here

Hope you like it! :-)

NOT going out of business, per se...

... and I should have made that fact more clear. My last post, I'm afraid, was headed with an inaccurate title: Hannah's is not going out of business; just going through changes. Changes that are on their way soon.

While the past year hasn't produced the kind of sales I'd hoped for (enough to grow the store, which began and continued with NO outside funding of any kind; strictly out of my own pocket), and honestly, I've had problems with some of my suppliers (not all, just a few. But the problems were serious enough to adversely affect my business. Seems not all suppliers are interested in providing their products within reasonable time periods, nor in being honest with their customers, unfortunately), I'm going to continue to use the Hannah's PinKeep name, and web site, for selling my own patterns and kits... and some extra supplies as well.

I'm working now on some designs to get things started. There will be, of course, my one finished pattern -- the long prairie bonnets -- plus many, many more to come. I'll be starting off with just a few, but I'll continue to add new ones as frequently as I can. And my finished goods will continue to be sold from my other site, Autumn Comforts.

Watch for my own assorted patterns, to be sold with kit options, to be made available at Hannah's PinKeep very soon! :-)

Blessings & Best,
Jodi

GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE!

All remaining merchandise (patterns, notions, and fabrics) have now been marked down from 20% to 60% off to close out! Thank you all for making this past year wonderful. Unfortunately, sales just haven't been what I'd hoped for at Hannah's, and I've decided to close out the remaining merchandise. I'll continue to use the Hannah's PinKeep name for my OWN patterns and kits, however, so watch for those to come soon! :-) Meanwhile, I hope you'll stop in and take advantage of the close-out prices on our remaining stock before your favorites are gone!

Clearance Sale!

Autumn is on its way, and changes are in the air. Unfortunately, Hannah's hasn't produced the kind of sales I was hoping for (and needed). We won't be closing down entirely, however; just making some changes. The first step is already underway, with nearly all our patterns, plus notions, a few colors of wool felt, etc. having been marked down to 40% off! The patterns in particular have been going fast, so I hope you'll head over and grab your favorites before they're gone!

I started Hannah's as strictly a bootstrap business out of my home a year ago. I was hoping sales would be enough to keep it funded and growing, but it hasn't been enough to achieve the growth I was hoping for. I know the economy is still very slow. Unfortunately most of us are still struggling to make ends meet.

I've finally managed to reach the stage in my medical care where they have me on one of the most potent treatments for RA in existence, and it's been helping significantly more than previous trials. While some irreversible damage has already been done, at least the pain is under much better control, and further damage has been slowed quite a bit! And in my new-found state of, finally, a bit less pain and stiffness, I'm seeing a renaissance of sorts in my interest in doing my own work again. Hannah's was to be a strictly resale operation. I'm thinking now that I'm going to sort of combine similar purposes for both my sites, using Hannah's PinKeep as more of an outlet for my own patterns, rather than reselling items purchased from others. I'll still offer fabrics and other supplies, but it will be more of a focus on offering the supplies needed to make my designs; kits, per se, to go with my patterns. That sort of thing. And, Autumn Comforts, my other, original site, will continue to be my outlet for my handcrafted finished goods.

I hope you'll take advantage of the reduced prices on my remaining stock of others' patterns and other items I'm closing out at Hannah's! There are some great deals to be had right now on designs by Penny Lane Primitives, Sweet Meadows Farm, Stacy Nash Primitives, and others. Click here to visit Hannah's PinKeep.

Hope you enjoy the transitions into September and the autumn season -- my favorite time of year! :-)
